Because of this you have the risk of causing a burn wound when you generate too much heat in a short period of time. This becomes more problematic with darker skin types.With a long pulse duration you give the heat that build up in the epidermis time to dissipate. When you do this, the client has less pain and the risk on skin damage is greatly reduces.
