Clothing Company in Springfield Park is seeking Assistant Merchandisers, Pattern Maker, & Quality Assurer. Must be able to handle high pressure and work in a deadline driven environment, with excellent communication & customer service skills. All candidates must have 3 years experience in the clothing industry.ASSISTANT MERCHANDISERS:- Purchasing trims for merchandiser.- Assisting merchandiser in ordering of fabric.- Reconciliation of fabric.-Completing chain workbooks.- Any other duty as assigned by merchandiser.SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:-- Matric + Tertiary qualification. PATTERN MAKER:Develop graded patterns based on sketches, garment specs and direction provided by the Design and Technical Design teams. Utilize, maintain, and update pattern library. Create patterns that reflect each brands fit and specifications while executing the designer’s vision and ensuring that these patterns are ready for adaptation in bulk production.Communicate and proactively address pattern and construction issues during development of samples and production.Partner with vendors to adjust patterns, analyze garment construction and resolve any production pattern issues. Attend all developmental fitting, taking extensive notes and fit comments. Be able to speak to pattern and style adjustments. Recommend fit and/or construction solutions to improve fit or reduce cost. Ensure alterations/corrections are made in a timely manner and all patterns are updated.Oversee the in-house sample room development process from pattern conception to garment approval including monitoring and ordering trims and fabrics for the sample room. Must be able to capture chain specs, and do garment measurements.Provide additional support as needed including, specing garments, checking garment construction in relation to tech packs and communicating with internal and external partners.SKILLS & KNOWLEDGEPlanning, strong organization and people management skills.Read and interpret design models and blueprints.Create rough-draught templates using freehand techniques.Measure, cut and design patterns in the material required.Excellent fine motor skills, and detail orientated.Experience with measuring, snipping, milling, and cutting tools.Physically fit and able to stand for long periods.QUALITY ASSURER:- Manufacturing concepts / PPS's.- Liaising with pattern makers / buyers regarding fits.- Completing in fit workbooks / QA workbooks.- Sending PPS for approval.- Checking markers.- Ensuring correct specs are given to production.- Checking the quality and spec of garments at factories, and approving the garment.- Measurement of garments.- Liaising with QA's from chain stores.SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE- Must have drivers licence, and be able to travel locally to different factories for inspection of garments.Curriculum Vitae's to be forwarded to hr@soltex.co.za, specify the position you are applying for in the subject line.
