We are seeking a skilled and experienced Qualified Vehicle Body Builder to join our Truck workshop team. The successful candidate will be responsible for building, repairing and maintaining vehicle bodies to the highest standards of safety and workmanship.Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:Welding, cutting, bolting, and riveting structural sections using specialized equipmentWorking with various materials including steel, aluminium, and fiberglassFitting body components such as doors, locks, handles, windows, and interior trimsReplacing seats, panels, bumpers, and light boxesRemoving and reattaching structural componentsInstalling interior finishes including floor coverings and door trimsCarrying out minor accident repairs and refurbishment workPerforming quality control checks on vehicle body condition, chassis (including cracks), body bolts, and accident damageInspecting safety and compliance items such as seat belts, mirrors, fire extinguishers, license discs, number plates, and data platesRepairing and modifying truck and trailer bodiesEnsuring all work complies with road safety regulationsAdhering to the Occupational Health and Safety Act at all timeQualifying CriteriaMinimum Grade 12 education or equivalentRelevant qualification or Red Seal Trade Test certificateMinimum of 5-8 years relevant working experience within the engineering or metal industryProven experience as a Vehicle Body BuilderStrong welding and fabrication skillsKnowledge of commercial vehicle standards and complianceExtensive knowledge of power toolsMust be prepared to work overtime when requiredQualifying Attributes:Hard working and self-motivatedTime management and organizational skillsDisplay a professional work approachAbility to work independently as well as part of a teamLogical and detail orientatedExcellent standards in executionCommitment to a strong business ethic and integrityStrength to handle materials and tools (physically fit)Good hand-eye coordinationHands-on practical approach to the jobKnowledge of Health and Safety RulesAbility to work under challenging conditionsSound communication skills (understand, read and write English)
