Water usage rights are registered on some boreholes, and water is obtained from 6 boreholes. The capacity of the boreholes is as follows: 3 supply 50,000 litres per hour, each, 1 supplies 25,000 litres per hour, 1 supplies 20,000 litres per hour and 1 supplies 10,000 litres per hour. All are fitted with submersible pumps. A 6,2-hectare centre pivot as well as numerous permanent sprinklers are used to irrigate all the irrigation areas. Electricity is supplied by one 50kWh Eskom transformer, while the 160 solar panels (500 kW hour at 5,300 hour per kW with a 40-kWh transformer) attached to the Eskom system help to substantially reduce the electricity bill.
