The standard series 79 cruiser v8
gearboxes h151 and h152 f revs much too high in 5th gear.
I import genuine Toyota Lexus
gearbox parts from Toyota USA. This is NOT pirate gears and comes from Toyota
USA in Dallas. (Lexus)
What we do is to fit a new 5th
gear set and 2nd gear and counter shaft -
1. This allows your V8 to have a
much longer 2nd gear ideal for traffic, wild life viewing and hunting.
2. The new 5th gear set bring the
revs from 2900 rpm to 2200 rpm while driving in 5th gear at 120 km/h. It's a
drop of 700 rpm.
3. Tests we did on the cruisers
shows a fuel saving up to 1.7 km per liter more than the original gearbox, much
lighter on fuel.
Other companies also do the
conversions, but with pirate gears from Australia.
25 Years of gearbox experience
show me that a pirate gear do not match perfectly on the original gears. The
one is softer than the other and usually one gets damaged.
