FACT LABS is looking for an enthusiastic Entry-Level Microbiology Technician to join our Durban laboratory team.Application closing date: 21 January 2025Position start date: 01 February 2026Role Requirements
Prepare culture media and laboratory reagents.
Test food, water, cosmetic and related industry samples for pathogenic and non-pathogenic microorganisms.
Perform plate counts, microscopy checks and other routine microbiology assays; accurately record and report results.
Follow written and verbal instructions from supervisors and work closely with a team of microbiologists.
Maintain good laboratory housekeeping, follow safety & QA procedures.
Skills Requirements
Residing in Durban (local candidates only).
Diploma / BTech in Biotechnology, Food Technology, Microbiology or related qualification.
0–2 years laboratory experience
Strong communication skills in English (verbal & written).
Able to take direction, work reliably in a team, and show attention to detail.
Basic computer literacy — Microsoft Excel and Word.
