Simonstown Boutique Backpackers is situated along the main road in Simonstown and is based in the Historical Prince Alfred Building Est. 1802. Simonstown is a charming naval town named after the governor of the Cape Colony, Simon van der Stel, upon whose recommendation the Bay was used by the Dutch East India Trading Company for winter anchorage. The backpackers offers a number of different room types to accommodate your specific needs. Come spend some time on our huge sea-facing-people-spotting-action-watching balcony - a great spot from which to soak up the view whilst knocking back a beer or two. Simonstown is a good deal quieter than Cape Town itself, so if you’re all partied out or just want to relax in peace and tranquility, then it’s a great base for your holiday. We have no parking hassles and no crime problems and the centre of Cape Town is only 45 minutes away by car or just over an hour by train. You can reach all the great sites of Cape Town easily and the beauty of Cape Point at the Cape of Good Hope, the Cape Peninsula and the famous Penguins of Boulder’s Beach is right on our doorstep. We’re conveniently located in the heart of Simonstown and just a 10-minute walk from the railway station. We can also arrange airport transfers, bicycle rental, Cape Point, Overland, Wine, and Garden Route tours, shark diving tours, boat trips, and car hire.FurnishedProperty Reference #: 963760Nearby Places/Vicinity:http://www.safarinow.com/go/simonstownboutiquebackpackerssimonstown/Agent Details:www.safarinow.com153 Main roadMuizenberg7945

Franschhoek is nestled between towering mountains in the beautiful Cape Winelands and lies in the magnificent Franschhoek Valley. This is the food and wine heartland of the country, where splendid wines are grown and our top chefs create international cuisine. Here breath-taking scenery, warm hospitality, world class cuisine and the finest wines all combine to create lasting memoriesWe start the day with a visit to the world-renowned Babylonstoren Wine Estate to view their magical garden. Set within 3.5 hectares (8 acres) of cultivated fruit and vegetables, the big garden at Babylonstoren is at the heart of the farm. It was inspired by the historic Company’s Garden in Cape Town, which supplied sailing ships of the Dutch East India Company with fresh vegetables and fruit during the days when the Cape was a halfway station between Europe and Asia. But they also link back to the mythological hanging gardens of Babylon. Those were thought to have been created by Nebuchadnezzar in the sixth century BC, for his wife who longed for the mountains and valleys of her youthOur next point of call will be at Môreson Wine Estate. Môreson’s Charcuterie and Wine Tasting is their own twist on novel wine tasting. Stretch out at the Farm Grocer bar counter while you sample a range of Môreson Wines, each individually paired with Neil Jewell’s mouth-watering yummy homemade Charcuterie. We then make our way to the historic Grande Provence Heritage Wine Estate (Est. 1694) where you will enjoy a wine and food pairing (2 white + 2 red and 4 canapé) in the owner’s private gallery. During the winter months, you will be close to the crackling fireplace while during summer you will be able to tickle your taste buds in the air-conditioned tasting room and enjoy the view of the majestic mountains outside. Next up is a pairing of various Pinotages with South African delicacies.Lunch will be booked at either one of the wine farms or a local restaurant in Franschhoek. Then finally at the foothills of the Simonsberg, in South Africa’s most celebrated Franschhoek wine valley, lies Vrede & Lust Wine Estate. Vrede & Lust is a family owned and managed wine estate. Here we will taste 5 different wines in the most serene surroundings. The tour starts and ends anywhere in Cape Town as the tour is private.Tour Duration: approximately 8 – 9 Hours.Highlights:• Beautiful village of Franschhoek – Food capital of South Africa;• Babylonstoren Wine Estate;• Môreson Wine Estate;• Grande Provence Heritage Wine;• Franschhoek Cellar;• Vrede & Lust Wine EstateIncludes:• Services of a registered guide• Land transportation in air-conditioneFurnishedProperty Reference #: 2730737Nearby Places/Vicinity:http://www.safarinow.com/go/1-day-franschhoek-foodie-wine-tour/Agent Details:www.safarinow.com153 Main roadMuizenberg7945
