PaddleYak SA has been providing SA with recreational, touring and expedition level kayaks for over thirty years. The PaddleYak Solo set the trend and is still one of the best all-round, sit-on kayaks available. The broad and full-length beam assures stability and sea-worthiness for larger paddlers, fishermen, divers and photographers. The medium length of 4.5m facilitates manoeuvrability and the extra volume provides extra carrying capacity, with three hatches. The craft comes standard with adjustable pedals and PaddleYak's standard Twist & Lock rudder. It is constucted in hand-laminated fibreglass with a core and protective gelcoat outer layer, all functional materials contributing to the high performance and longevity of the craft. If you are looking for a sturdy craft which will last for many years, this is it. New PY Solos sell for R13900. The used demo shown here is availabale at R9900.The smaller PaddleYak is the PY Darter (3.6m) and the slightly longer and more streamlined one is the PY Gypsy (4.7m). Larger is the PY Swift (5.2m) and the Fusion (5,4m). Most have double versions too and some offer hybrid combinations, offering coamings with sprayskirts for more extreme environments.
