The Senior Payroll Administrator will be ensure accurate payroll processing in a timely manner for +/- 1500 employees and be second in charge as well as support to the Group's Payroll Manager.

Senior Payroll Administrator
Reports to
Payroll Manager
Required qualification
Minimum Matric
National higher diploma relevant to field is recommended
Experience required
Minimum of 5 years Sage 300 People Payroll experience
Key Performance Areas
Manage the payroll workload to meet operational requirements
Ensure on-time and accurate pay-runs for the area of responsibility
Ensure that all approvals and governance steps are complied with before payroll payments are made.
Ensure that all financial capturing and processing is done in compliance with all relevant legislation and internal policies
Ensure all payroll information and employee records are maintained in accordance with statutory requirements
Prepare relevant monthly, quarterly and annual reports – ie. summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave and non-taxable salaries.
Resolve payroll related issues and queries
Balance payroll accounts by resolving payroll discrepancies
Prepare various EFT files for payment
Oversee and audit the processing of payroll changes (e.g. engagements, terminations, promotions and movements)
Performing payroll checks and audits after pay-runs
Review and recommend improvements to existing payroll procedures.
Coordinate with HR and finance teams to carry out payroll processing.
Assist in audit operations and implement audit recommendations.
