Job Summary Inform and empower members of the management team, employees, and others within the organisation on how to recognise hazards and minimise risks. Create, maintain and improve the health, safety, environmental and quality standards within the workplace. Responsibilities Assist in maintaining and administering the Wasteplan and SmartMatta health, safety and environment systems and databases Assist in completing incident and investigation reports and ensure that all relevant stakeholders are updated on the above matters Assist in conducting internal SHEQ audits / risk assessments and inspections Assist in coordinating health and safety training and development as required (including toolbox talks, safety and quality briefings) Provide support in the development of SHEQ standards, systems and procedures Ensure that safety files are completed and up to date for each site Responsible for the ordering of PPE, maintaining of the PPE stores and the issuing out PPE to employees Assist in establishing a health and safety committee Assist the Covid-19 Compliance Officer in the management of Covid-19 reporting as well as Covid-19 management in the workplace Any other duties that may be required for the efficient running of the SHEQ department Assist in maintaining licences, permits and ISO Certifications Requirements Grade 12 with a qualification in Health, Safety, Environment and Quality Previous work experience in the waste industry / environment is advantageous Detailed knowledge of Microsoft applications and strong administrative skills Knowledge and experience of Health & Safety, Environment and / or Quality and / or undertaking audits against certificated standards Employment will be implemented in accordance with the Employment Equity Act. Key Performance Areas: Stock:Provide daily stock update reports to management.Compile daily, weekly and monthly stock takes and reconcile stock.Conduct daily cycle counts based on locations.Maximise space utliisation through effective stock rotation.Monitor stock aging and conduct FIFO control on a weekly basis.Assist with conducting timeous planning on warehouse space and resources in line with shipments.Supervision:Prepare external invoicing and ensure accurate rates.Receive deliveries and be responsible for the receipting of Delivery Notes.Monitor any cargo damages or shortages.Reconcile all Delivery Notes with purchase orders.Client Liaison:Attend to clients (internal and external), professionally at all times.SHEQ:Ensure SOPs are strictly followed for quality and safety.Ensure housekeeping is done daily.Drive for continuous improvement.Always maintain SHEQ standards and record keeping.Ensure all processes and procedures are accurately followed.Ensure HSSE is being complied with and maintained on a daily basis.Deliver excellent housekeeping practices.Reporting:Deliver weekly and monthly reports on stock.Ensure unpack reports are sent to the Supervisor.Provide back up assistance to management.
