The role will be reporting to the Engineering Manager, the role will co-ordinate maintenance activities to ensure effective maintenance according to organisational requirements and delegate tasks to subordinates to ensure safe installation, running and maintenance of equipment / TMM (Trackless Mobile Machinery) for optimum availability at the lowest cost. In addition to ensuring that safety rules are followed on the site at all times and developing work schedules based on employee and contractor availability, they are also responsible for:
The TMM Foreman is responsible for overseeing daily operations at a worksite to ensure the completion of projects in a safe and efficient manner. Coordinating daily tasks according to priorities and plans, making changes when necessary due to weather, supply, delivery and personnel.
Delegating individual responsibilities and projects to crew members and contractors
Recruiting, hiring, training, managing and mentoring employees and contractors
Providing adequate resources and staffing to meet project schedules, laws, regulations, best practices and safety needs
Emphasizing safe use of tools, machinery and equipment while providing training on safety gear, helmets and procedures.
Developing and managing project budgets and quality standards for all sites.
Resolving conflicts or miscommunications quickly and amicably.
Regularly reporting project status to supervisors, site engineers and other officials
The successful candidate must meet the following requirements :
Qualifications and Experience:
N4 in Mechanical Engineering
Recognized Diesel Mechanic Trade Test certificate
Engineering Foreman Certificate
Diploma in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering (N6) advantageous / Alternative to Trade Test Certificate for PDSA EIT or Engineer in Training.
At least 6 years’ experience in mining of which a minimum 4 years’ experience in Trackless Mobile Machinery (TMM) environment, (post qualification).
At least 3 years’ experience as a Trackless Mobile Machinery foreman.
Computer Literacy and Microsoft Office Suite.
Valid drivers license.
Able to obtain Medical Certificate of Fitness (COFs)
