Assistant brand manager De Toren Private Cellar is a boutique winery specialising in luxurious, world-class red blends, and is situated on the Polkadraai Hills overlooking the picturesque Stellenbosch. An exciting new position has become available in our small, dynamic team and we are looking for the perfect candidate to join us in our marketing department.The assistant brand manager will report directly to the MD and will be responsible for liaising with external parties on De Toren’s behalf. This individual will be responsible for leading and guiding the internal team in the daily implementation of the brand’s marketing, communications, and sales strategy.Key responsibilities: Management and guidance of the internal marketing team in the execution of all marketing and sales-related responsibilities and functions.Daily implementation of campaign activities deriving from the marketing communications strategy. These include various channels’ activities such as: digital, social media, design, copywriting, events, activations, public relations, production, and trade/ distribution activity.Daily management of product sales, updates and forecasts whilst supporting the MD with distribution support and communication. Management and processing of quotes, invoices and recons pertaining to the marketing budget expenses and allocations.Attendance of monthly and weekly meetings with third parties/ suppliers.Direct contact between third parties/ suppliers and the internal team, including the marketing, management, and production team. Reviewing and advising the internal De Toren team on the service and support of third parties/ suppliers.Conduct trade visits (both locally & internally) to support by means of trade communication, training, customer relationship building and to conduct informal research to inform the marketing plan(s).Attendance and preparation for monthly strategic marketing and management meetings in terms of agenda and reporting.Consolidation of the necessary info for the monthly management and marketing reports. Qualifications and experience: Preferred tertiary education in marketing, i.e. marketing degree and/or diploma2 – 4 year’s work experience, ideally in the marketing industry (wine industry experience will be beneficial, but not a prerequisite)Must be competent and experienced in Microsoft Outlook, i.e. Word, Excel and Powerpoint, and well versed across digital and social media platformsBasic design capabilities will be advantageous, but not mandatoryBrand social media management experience will be advantageous Qualities: An all-rounder and self-starter with a keen interest in the wine industry and the world of marketing.
