Job Description
Key Performance Areas: • Planning, management, and implementation of the Writing Centre programmes • Facilitate the development of academic writing competencies amongst staff and students • Conduct research on language and academic literacies • Participate in staff and students support provided by the TLDC and other departments • Design and deliver learning materials on writing pedagogies • Collaboration with lecturers in developing disciplinary writing content Minimum Requirements: • Master’s degree in Applied Linguistics, or Master’s degree in Language Education. • A minimum of three (3) years in teaching English as a Second Language in a • A minimum of three (3) years working in a Writing Centre in a Post School Education and Training (PSET) environment. Recommendations: • A PhD degree is recommended Competencies: • Knowledge and experience in institutional research • Leadership skills • Negotiation skills • Presentation skills • Report writing skills • Strong written and verbal communication skills
