Duties include the following, but not limited to:
•Effective management of nursing education programmes focussing on the clinical component of nursing education programmes including knowledge, clinical skills and attitudes
•Facilitation of teaching and learning in the clinical environment
•Plan, co-ordinate, communicate and implement assessment strategies including formative and summative assessments to meet the required outcomes of the learning programme
•Facilitate student development and socialisation
•Maintain a collegial relationship with students, academic staff and clinical staff to promote a positive learning environment
•Effective management of clinical hours related to nursing education programmes
•Displays clinical competence related to patient care and professional practice. Demonstrates skill in critical thinking
•Maintain accurate records related to clinical teaching and learning of nursing students
•Reports directly to Group Training and Development Manager and forms part the Training and Development department team
Requirements:
•Registration with SANC as an Assessor
•Preferred – any nursing speciality
•At least 3 – 5 years’ experience in an education/facilitation position
•Excellent interpersonal, communication and administrative skills
•Excellent Leadership qualities and mentoring skills
•Excellent Computer skills, i.e. Outlook, MS Word, Excel, etc.
•Valid Driver’s Licence and ability to travel between hospitals
•Highly motivated, energetic and able to handle pressure
