The incumbent will assume responsibility for all reasonable operational activities in the absence of other Managers ensuring that all Company policies and procedures, and all legal requirements, are adhered to. Accordingly, the incumbent will be accountable for capacity development, mentoring and training of night staff. Minimum Qualifications and Experience: Nursing degree/diploma Current SANC registration Any management or relevant business education Updated ACLS/PALS/ATLS/BLS 5 years experience at managerial/supervisory level Experience within private hospital environment (preferable) Computer literate. Minimum Duties: Implement the nursing strategy in order to drive the strategic nursing plan and align night staff outputs accordingly, assess patient acuity at all wards during the night and determine resource needs for the following day. Monitor the safety and care delivered by staff, including agency staff, identify quality improvement and implement opportunities to improve quality service delivery at night. Conduct regular ward rounds, including monitoring equipment, audits and patient environment checks. Co-ordinate after hour admissions and ensure effective recordkeeping and handover the next morning. Issue medication and manage the stock levels of Emergency Pharmacy Cupboard.
