Description
Eddie Riggs is the world’s greatest roadie. When a stage accident causes blood to fall on Eddie’s belt buckle, it transports him back in time to an epic age of heavy metal. There Eddie must fight his way through the hordes of the demon Emperor Doviculus to free humanity.
Brütal Legend is set in a free-roaming world inspired by heavy metal album covers, with the primary mode of transportation around the world being Eddie’s car “The Deuce” (AKA “The Druid Plow”). Combat is mostly basic hack-and-slash, alternatively attacking with either Eddie’s axe or his guitar Clementine. Through Eddie’s guitar the power of rock can summon his car, melt enemy’s faces, and even raise ancient structures left behind by the Titans. Many of the main missions, and the multiplayer mode, add real-time strategy elements to the mix. During these missions there are fan-geysers on the battlefield that can be harvested by summoning merchandise booths. Fans are spent to create units that can be commanded and even double-teamed with for devastating results. The ultimate goal of most of these missions is to destroy the enemy’s stage before they destroy yours.
Upgrades can be purchased for Eddie’s combat abilities and his car from The Guardian of Metal at the center of the Earth. The upgrades come in exchange for Fire Tributes that are collected by completing main and side missions, and finding the various collectibles around the landscape.

Description
Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel! is the third main game in the first-person shooter series. Just like the previous titles it offers different environments with procedural content and free exploration. By completing quests, experience is earned to distribute skill points and build a character with through skill trees with elements of role-playing games. Loot and especially many different types of guns play an important role to complement the character path. The story is set between the first and the second game, more specifically between the two DLC items The Secret Armory of General Knoxx and Claptrap’s New Robot Revolution. It tells how Handsome Jack, the main antagonist from Borderlands 2, rose to power. It is told as a flashback by Athena after the events of Borderlands 2, when she is captured and interrogated by Lilith. She teamed up with three vault hunters to head towards the Hyperion moon base Helios, but on the way they are ambushed and crash-land on the moon base. Most of the game takes place first on Pandora’s moon Elpis and later on Helios.
There are four characters to choose from that were all previously NPCs in the previous games. They are Athena, Claptrap, Nisha and Wilhelm. They each represent a different class with specific skills and abilities. The gameplay is largely identical to the previous games. New elements are low gravity affecting jump height and causing bodies and loot to float away when fighting on the moon surface. O2 kits are used for air supply and they can be replenished through vents, generators and tanks dropped by enemies. The kits can also be used for movement and combat, using them as a jet pack, to hover, double jump, and to come down with a ground slam. As with the other items in the game there is large variety of kits with bonuses. Two new item types have been added next to the existing ones. The game introduces laser guns (beams, blasters, railguns etc. with low recoil) and items with a cryogenic elemental effect. The latter are used to slow down enemies or to freeze them, after which they can be smashed with a melee attack. The Grinder machine is another addition to the game. A combination of three weapons of similar rarity can be deposited there to receive a better, rare weapon. It works similarly to recipes in fantasy RPGs. Some weapons from the second game, such as the Slag weapons, do not yet exist in this game. There are new vehicles such as a Stingray hoverbike and a moon buggy.
Just like the previous games it can be played in single-player or cooperatively, both offline and online. Athena, Claptrap and Wilhelm all have skills that benefit the entire group. After completing the game the True Vault Hunter mode becomes available, just like the second game, encouraging a new playthrough to obtain the higher level content.

In BioShock Infinite the player becomes detective Booker DeWitt who is forced to find a young woman Elizabeth to pay off his debts. She is held captive in the floating city of Columbia in alternate version of 1912. During his travels Booker encounters different factions within the city who are battling one another. The Founders want Columbia to remain a city only for pure Americans while the Vox Populi think the city should be available to anyone. The setting is built around the idea of exceptionalism with a strong religious doctrine and open racism. Elizabeth is a key piece within this conflict and has a mysterious origin including her powers to cause tears in the fabric of space-time, exposing parallel universes. Booker and Elizabeth remain together most of the game and she acts on her own. She does not need to be defended, tosses ammo and silver eagle coins to Booker and can be asked to pick locks. They are hunted down by the spiritual leader Comstock and his troops, along with the giant mechanical Songbird.
The game uses similar gameplay styles and mechanics found in previous BioShock games. Vigors give the player super powers to do a variety of things such as sending a murder of crows to peck away enemies or charming enemies to defend you. Another one is possession used to take over humans or machines to temporarily turn them into allies. Once the effect wears off, the possessed humans will commit suicide. Most vigors have multiple uses either as a direct attack or as a much stronger trap awaiting to be triggered. Booker can also be upgraded through four types of gear with permanent bonuses similar to the gene tonics in the previous games. Different types can be equipped according to the situation. The typical FPS array of weapons can be found throughout the game like pistols, shotguns, and rifles. One of the more notable weapons is the Sky Hook which can be used as a melee weapon to take down an enemy. Money can be exchanged at vending machines for upgrades and consumables. Items are found by looting barrels, desks and enemies. Vigors can only be executed when a sufficient amount of salt has been collected. The three main bars visible on the screen (health, salt and shield) can be extended by locating and using infusions. The story is also furthered through optional voxophones (audio logs) and kinetoscopes (film projectors).
Skylines provide a unique way to move throughout the world. Using the Sky Hook, the player can attached to these lines and quickly slide in one direction or another. These can be used to escape overwhelming situations or used to reach higher ground to gain a combat edge.

Battlefield: Bad Company is a war-themed first person shooter and the second in the series developed exclusively for the console platforms. The title refers to a a group of the 222nd Army battalion of soldiers considered hard to steer and incompetent troublemakers. As such, they do not receive much respect in battle and squad of four decides to desert to pursue their own goals. The war takes places in fictional countries in the Middle East and the US squad takes on Russians, soldiers of the Middle East coalition and Legionnaire mercenaries. The player controls protagonist Preston Marlowe. His squad members are Terrence Sweetwater, George Gordon Haggard Jr. and the leader Samuel Redford.
Marlowe has a health injector he can use as many times as he desires to restore his health. When dying, he also respawns immediately at the last location. Players can only carry a maximum of four weapons at any given time. There are many vehicles to drive, such as hummers, buggies, boats, tanks, boats and even helicopters to control. The storyline takes the characters through different fictional countries with mission where their background and motivation is gradually revealed.
The new Frostbite DX engine makes it possible to destroy many objects and buildings, almost to completely demolishing them. This changes the way the environment can be used as a cover, as everything can be destroyed. The multiplayer portion features games with a ranking system where items and weapons are gradually unlocked. The base game includes only one mode, Gold Rush, with teams of attackers and defenders.
Through five events such as describing to the newsletter, pre-ordering the game or reaching a certain rank in the demo, players could receive player codes to unlock five new weapons: F2000 assault rifle, USAS-12 semi-automatic shotgun, M60 light machine gun, QBU-88 sniper rifle and the silenced UZI submachine gun.

In a variety of mostly team-based playing variants – most importantly conquest in which certain points on the maps have to be held by the own team and the faster rush mode with an defending team and an attacking team which has to destroy certain points – players face each other on usually big maps with a variety of vehicles to use.
Of course this instalments features various small and big differences to its predecessors. The most important are the interactive “Levolution” elements which emphasize the destroyable areas; one of the unique selling points of the Frostbite engine: each map has one level element which significantly changes how the level looks and plays when destroyed. Battlefield 4 also brings back two elements from previous instalments: naval warfare and the commander mode. The commander is an additional player who sees the level from an overhead map, gives orders to the team members and can assign missile strikes. In contrast to Battlefield 2, the commander is not an actual player character on the battlefield and therefore can’t be killed. New playing modes are Defuse (both teams have to detonate a bomb in a target zone, each player has only one “life” per round) and Obliteration (there spawns only one bomb pack on the map which has to be used to detonate three points on the map).
Like the predecessor, Battlefield 4 features a singleplayer campaign. A Chinese general overthrows the government, starts a war with the whole world (but is allied with Russia) and the USA has to save the day. The player takes the role of a faceless soldier named Recker, as commander of a small troop he can assign basic orders, who has to survive several missions of the usual Call of Duty variety: linear levels with a lot of boom and hundreds of enemies to shoot. In comparison to Battlefield 3, some levels are a bit more and in some cases the player drives a vehicle. Of course there are also the usual stealth and torture sequences. There is no co-op mode anymore.

New playing modes are Defuse (both teams have to detonate a bomb in a target zone, each player has only one “life” per round) and Obliteration (there spawns only one bomb pack on the map which has to be used to detonate three points on the map).
Like the predecessor, Battlefield 4 features a singleplayer campaign. A Chinese general overthrows the government, starts a war with the whole world (but is allied with Russia) and the USA has to save the day. The player takes the role of a faceless soldier named Recker, as commander of a small troop he can assign basic orders, who has to survive several missions of the usual Call of Duty variety: linear levels with a lot of boom and hundreds of enemies to shoot. In comparison to Battlefield 3, some levels are a bit more and in some cases the player drives a vehicle. Of course there are also the usual stealth and torture sequences. There is no co-op mode anymore.

Description
Tyson Rios and Elliot Salem are two ex Army Rangers turned contractors for SSC, a Private Military Corporation. They embark on missions ranging from the caves of Afghanistan all the way to abandoned villages of China. Mission after mission, they realize that the wonderful life of a PMC at SSC might not be as clean as they thought it was is.
Army of Two focuses on gameplay centered around cooperative two man missions and customizable weapons. The arsenal includes pistols, shotguns, submachine guns, rocket launchers, light machine guns, sniper rifles, grenade launchers and assault rifles. Players are able to modify these with extra magazines and new barrels, suppressors, grip handles and different plates that only change the look. The player fights alongside either a live or AI team mate using two man strategies as the deadliest military outfit a government can buy. Players can lift each other up ledges, heal, cover each other’s backs, combine driving a vehicle and shooting, feign death, swap weapons, protect each other with shields, perform dual parachute jumps and go “aggro” to attack the enemy’s attention.
The multiplayer mode is available for four players, operating in two teams based on the co-op structure of the single-player game. Players need to complete objectives divided over three modes – Warzone, Bounties and Extraction – while dealing with the opposing team at the same time.
