Key ResponsibilitiesSet up, operate, and maintain lathe (turning) and milling machines (manual and/or CNC)Interpret and work from technical drawings, blueprints, and specificationsManufacture components to tight tolerances and quality standardsPerform tool setting, calibration, and adjustments for optimal machining performanceConduct routine inspections and measurements using precision instruments (micrometers, verniers, gauges)Ensure machine maintenance and report any faults or breakdownsAssist with repairs, rework, and modifications of components and assembliesMaintain production records and adhere to job card requirementsComply with health, safety, and environmental standardsCollaborate with engineering and production teams to improve processes and efficiency Minimum RequirementsTrade Test Certificate – Qualified Turner / MachinistMinimum 3–5 years’ experience in a manufacturing or engineering environmentProven experience with:Conventional turning (lathe work)Milling machines (manual and/or CNC)Ability to read and interpret engineering drawingsStrong understanding of tolerances, fits, and machining practicesFamiliarity with measuring equipment and quality control processesPhysically fit and able to work in a workshop environment Preferred RequirementsExperience with CNC programming and operationKnowledge of different metals and materials machining propertiesExposure to ISO standards and quality systemsBasic maintenance and fault-finding skillsForklift or overhead crane licence (advantageous)
