DIARY OF MY SOUL (after "The Scream" by Edvard Munch 1895.
Original produced by Michael De Kock Willemse in Fine Art Practice at Rhodes University - the oldest undergraduand in its 120-year history (you can Google that!).
I know of no other original interpretation of this great work by Munch which sold at auction in 2012 for $119,922,500, the highest prize paid for an artwork at the time.

This work is a reflection of my inner and outer turmoil on deciding to enter Rhodes University, 50 vears after writing my matric in 1970. This work was produced in my first year in Fine Art Practice and required expression of your inner and personal turmoil on paper and ink. It had centre pride of place in the Rhodes Art Gallery exhibition of 1st year fine art.
The words on this work are my own and can be found in my writing on the internet.

Munch wrote how the visionary experience of The Scream came to him:
I went along the road with two friends -
The sun set
Suddenly the sky became blood - and I felt the breath of sadness
A tearing pain beneath my heart
I stopped - leaned against the fence - deathly tired Clouds over the fjord dripped reeking blood
My friends went on but I just stood trembling with an open wound in my breast trembling with anxiety
