As the Tax Specialist, you will take full ownership of gaming and operational tax compliance across several African entities. You will work closely with finance leadership, country managers, regulators, and external advisors, positioning yourself as the regional tax expert. The business is expanding its African footprint, and this role offers strong career leverage for someone who wants exposure beyond single-entity compliance.Key Responsibilities:Own end-to-end gaming and operational tax compliance across multiple African jurisdictionsPrepare, review, and submit weekly, monthly, and periodic indirect tax returns including gaming tax, VAT, WHT, levies, excise, and related operational taxesAssist with the preparation and submission of provisional and annual corporate income tax returnsPrepare quarterly group tax calculations, including current and deferred tax, effective tax rate calculations, and reconciliationsSupport monthly, quarterly, and annual tax reporting for group financial statementsMaintain and manage the tax compliance calendar across all entities and jurisdictionsSupport internal and external tax audits and liaise with auditors and regulatorsEngage with regulatory bodies, gaming boards, and external advisors across AfricaImprove and strengthen tax compliance processes aligned with internal controls and SOX requirementsJob Experience and Skills Required:Post-graduate degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related fieldProfessional tax qualification such as CTA, ACCA, CIMA, or similar is advantageousMinimum 35 years experience in direct and indirect tax complianceExposure to multi-jurisdictional tax environments, ideally within AfricaExperience within a regulated industry such as gaming, financial services, fintech, or telecoms is highly beneficialProven hands-on experience with VAT, WHT, CIT, and operational taxesExperience supporting tax reporting and working with compliance calendarsStrong technical knowledge of dir
