This specialized role requires a professional who combines legal authority (the power to sign off and issue Certificates of Compliance) with hands-on, practical expertise in the maintenance, fault-finding, and asset management of both Medium Voltage (MV) and Low Voltage (LV) electrical reticulation networks. Key Responsibilities Oversee, inspect, test, and legally sign off on electrical installations, issuing Certificates of Compliance (CoC) in line with statutory requirements. Execute and manage preventative and corrective maintenance on MV and LV electrical reticulation infrastructure (including substations, transformers, switchgear, and distribution networks). Perform advanced fault-finding and diagnostics on complex electrical network components. Ensure all work on site strictly complies with the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Act, SANS 10142, and relevant MV/LV operating regulations. Provide technical leadership and supervise teams of site technicians and electricians. Minimum Requirements & Qualifications To be considered for this position, applicants must possess the following qualifications and experience: Trade Qualification: A relevant recognized Trade Certificate or Red Seal qualification as an Electrician. DOL Registration: Current, active registration with the Department of Employment and Labour (DOL) as either an Installation Electrician (IE) or a Master Installation Electrician (MIE). Technical Experience: Proven experience in the operational maintenance and repair of MV and LV electrical reticulation network infrastructure. Driver's License: A valid drivers license.
