Minimum requirements for the role:A technical diploma or similar qualification in water treatment, environmental technology, mechanical, electrical, or a related field or equivalent experience is preferred for this role.A Millwright qualification is preferred for this role.Previous field service experience working within the water treatment equipment industry within the boiler and cooling water markets is pref.Must have a strong understanding of water treatment processes (e.g., filtration, chemical dosing, disinfection, softners and RO).Proficiency with troubleshooting and repair of water treatment equipment is essential.Experience working with SCADA systems, PLCs, and basic instrumentation is pref.Familiarity with regulatory standards (OSHA) and compliance requirements within the water treatment industry is preferred.Experience having worked with industrial control systems and automation technologies is preferred.Must have good communication and customer service skills.Familiarity with SCADA systems and basic instrumentation used in water and wastewater treatment is preferred.The successful candidate will be responsible for:Performing installation, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting and repairing of water treatment equipment systems within the Boiler and Cooling Water markets at customer sites within the Gauteng area. Providing technical advice and ensuring safe and compliant operation of equipment in a variety of municipal, industrial, and commercial settings.Working in a team installing, commissioning, calibrating, and maintaining water treatment equipment, including pumps, filtration systems, softners, RO, disinfection systems, sensors, and chemical feed systems on boiler and cooling towers.Serving as the primary on-site technical expert and main point of contact for customers, ensuring a high level of satisfaction.Performing routine and preventive maintenance on water treatment equipment to ensure reliable and compliant operation.Troubleshooting and repairing equipment and control systems, minimising downtime and ensuring process performance.Collecting water samples and conducting basic field testing to verify system performance and compliance.Providing technical support and training to customers on system operation and maintenance best practices.Reading and interpreting technical diagrams, schematics, and manuals to support field activities.Maintaining detailed service documentation, including service reports, compliance logs, and calibration records.Salary package, including benefits, is highly negotiable depending on experience gained.
