Kitchen Manager – Leading Restaurant Group - V&A, Cape TownA renowned restaurant group is seeking an experienced Kitchen Manager to oversee operations at one of their busiest flagship locations. This is a senior management role focused on leading a large kitchen brigade and driving excellence in food quality, team performance, and operational efficiency.Role Overview:As Kitchen Manager, you will be responsible for managing a team of 40 kitchen staff, ensuring smooth daily operations, and consistently delivering high standards of food quality and safety. Your focus will be on people management, process improvement, and maintaining a positive, productive kitchen culture. This is a hands-on leadership role, with minimal cooking required.Key Responsibilities:Lead, train, and motivate a large kitchen team (40+ staff) in a fast-paced, high-volume environmentOversee all aspects of kitchen operations, including scheduling, rostering, and team developmentDrive improvements in food quality, menu execution, and consistencyManage stock control, ordering, inventory, and supplier relationshipsEnsure compliance with health, safety, and food hygiene standardsMonitor kitchen costs and help optimize profitabilityFoster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvementCollaborate with senior management and front-of-house teams to deliver an exceptional customer experienceRequirements:Minimum 5 years’ experience as a senior chef or kitchen manager in a high-volume restaurantProven track record managing and developing large kitchen teamsStrong leadership, communication, and organizational skillsExperience with stock control, ordering, and supplier managementExcellent understanding of food safety and kitchen complianceAbility to thrive under pressure and solve problems quicklyProfessional, positive attitude and commitment to high standardsMust have working rights in South AfricaAlready based in Cape TownSalary:R30,000 – R35,000 per month, depending on experienceTo Apply:Send your CV to recruitment@hireprostaff.co.zaPlease use the subject line: Kitchen Manager
