A gas company based in Johannesburg seeks a Hot-Tap and Stoppling Supervisor: to supervise Hot tapping and Line stop activities,Welding on Steel, and plastic (HDPE) pipeline assets.To oversee overall team Safety, Health, environmental, Risk and Quality Control,To Plan Lead, Direct, Control and support the entire Hot tapping, line Stop and Welding team.QualificationGrade 12 qualification / N3.Qualified Tradesman with a minimum of 10 years’ experience (Natural gas)Requirements- Computer Literate (basic skills).- OHS ACT 85 of 1993 and its regulations e.g.- Valid driver’s license- Experience on working on natural gas pipelines.- Strong Administrative Skills- Sound knowledge of the gas network layout and it’s equipment.- Ability to work within and motivate a team.- Reading and understanding of technical drawings / road maps / GIS maps.- Good verbal and written communication skills.- Strong people management skills and the ability to deal with a diverse number of people.- Ability to work well under pressure and stressful situations.Duties-To supervise steel welding (In-service and out of service) and developing of welding procedures and specifications (WPS).- Perform on-site services including but not limited to: Hot Tapping, Line Stopping, DoubleLine Stops using a bypass, Angle Taps where required.- Operate a range of Hot Tapping & Line Stopping equipment in the range of ½” to 26”. - Service and maintain Hot Tapping and Plugging equipment for job ready status inaccordance with required procedures.- Travel to the worksite and provide necessary supervision and leadership- Responsible and accountable for Risk assessments, Critical Task analysis, and Jobobservations- Responsible for equipment setup, pressure testing, precheck function testing, approvalfor all services provided in accordance with required procedures.- Performing FAT and SIT testing both in house and in the field as required.- Adhere to all GAS safety practices – Cardinal Rules & Process Safetymanagement- Timeously address all infringements and report it in accordance with Incidentmanagement system- Responsible for ensuring an ongoing clean, tidy, and safe work environment in line withlegislative requirements
