Job Summary / PurposeThe CNC Toolmaker is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, modifying, and maintaining all moulds and tooling, as well as the design and manufacture of new tools when required.The role also supports the Toolroom Head of Department by assisting with planning, staff coordination, workflow management, and improving overall toolroom efficiency. Hours of WorkAs per shift roster:Monday Friday: 07:00 17:00Alternate Saturday: 08:00 13:00Sunday: As requiredOn-call: Required for breakdowns, including after-hours, weekends, and public holidays Primary Responsibilities CNC MachiningProgramming, setting up and operating CNC machinesProper cutter selection for specific machining applicationsMinimise CNC machine idle timeCutting tool management and ensuring availability of correct cutters at all times Tooling and Mould ManufacturingManufacture, design, maintain and modify existing mouldsManufacture and develop new tools as requiredProvide support during mould start-up to ensure:Correct operationProduct quality complianceQC approval before release Mould Inspections During ProductionIncluding but not limited to:Cleaning shut-off facesChecking wear pad screws and shimsInspecting stripper plate screwsInspecting tamper slides, handle hole slides and all moving componentsInspecting ejector couplingsChecking nozzle-to-sprue bush contact for leaksVerifying mould temperature controller operation and settingsGreasing wear pads, guide pins and moving partsUpdating date stamps Tool Maintenance Between Production RunsComplete stripping of mouldsCleaning of all components and platesReplacement of:O-ringsCap screwsSpringsInspection of:Hot runners (leaks, loose tips, etc.)Shut-off facesWear pads and shimsRepairing damaged plates or componentsRepairing or replacing broken mould partsTesting:Air valvesCore tip airSupport air systemsLubrication of all moving componentsCorrect mould assemblyFunctional testing of:Water circuitsAir circuitsHot runnersBasic mould functions Breakdown and Production SupportRespond promptly to machine stoppages including:Heater fau
