This 68 Pontiac just has something special about it, maybe it’s the Midnight Blue Metallic Paintwork or maybe it’s the grunt of the 383Ci Stroker V8. Whatever it is it turns heads and, in some ways, it’s better looking than its cousin the Camaro. Yes, we are in the GM Stable and shared platforms but let’s focus on the Pontiac brand. The First generation was built from 1967 to 1969 and there were 90152 examples of the two door coupes made in 68, they also came as a two-door convertible too.The design was a little more streamline than the Camaro with the integrated bumper and the Slit taillights that was inspired from the Stables GTO in 66 and 67.But let’s look at our Firebird. This Stunning Cars is a little bit of a resto mod and somewhat unusual as it’s been converted to a RIGHT-HAND DRIVE vehicle. This conversion had been done professionally and one must look closely to notice the changes that have been made to make it work. And often they don’t handle well after this has been done which isn’t the case on this Baby.Then there is the engine a 383 Ci Stroker, well these cars would have had a 350Ci V8 or a 400Ci V8 on the bigger side of things. The Stroker in the Baby is special, well-tuned and dressed up in Edelbrock gear. Around 10,236 Jaguar 420s were built between 1966 and 1968, a relatively short production run for this luxury sports sedan.
This car shared the powerful E-Type derived 4.2L XK engine.
This January 1968 Jaguar 420 compact with matching numbers, is a factory build four speed manual with overdrive, produced in limited numbers for a short period of time. It has old white paintwork which is still impressive. The car is rust free and never been in an accident but needs slight touch ups. Its 4. 2L DOHC engine, gearbox, clutch, overdrive system, power steering. Some of these items need work. The all leather interior needs work.
