A very notable car in its era before independent rear suspension took over. It was known to be very reliable and economical transport for a small family. Engine is in good running condition. The carburetor has not been rebuilt, so it does not idle perfectly.
It stood under a roof but got dirty, but i covered all the intakes.
Needs attention:
- Brake lines and brake shoes need replacement/repair.
- Fuel tank has some rust but usable after cleaning.
- Gearbox needs to be inspected/repaired. It was shifting gears previously but is currently stuck (cause unknown).

For sale is my 1968 Honda S800 Roadster Mk2 — an exceptionally rare vehicle, not only within South Africa, but globally as well. Estimated surviving numbers are believed to be approximately 206 Mk1 cars and 202 Mk2 cars worldwide, making these incredibly scarce collector vehicles today. From my own research, I am only aware of four Honda S800 Roadsters currently residing in South Africa.The Honda S800 remains one of the most important early Japanese sports cars ever produced. Its high-revving four-cylinder engine, lightweight construction, excellent weight distribution, and low centre of gravity made it a remarkably advanced sports car for its era and helped establish Honda's reputation long before the arrival of icons such as the NSX and S2000.This particular example presents exceptionally well and, importantly, shows no signs of rust or body issues. Unlike many projects that have been stripped and scattered over the years, this vehicle retains its complete engine and gearbox, both of which are included with the sale and simply require refitting. The car is also accompanied by a substantial collection of spare parts, including a brand-new original exhaust system.The vehicle has been repainted in white at some point in its life and retains its original wheels and hubcaps. The 105E is a real gem with its famous big bore short stroke engine, which allowed it to be modified with great success.This version is fitted with a Ford 1600 cc (Escort Sport engine) with a downdraft Weber carburettor and sports cam. Car is in very good condition - running with a new battery.The well-known Cosworth brand was formed when Mike Costin and Keith Duckworth, both brilliant engineers, got together and developed first of all the Cosworth MAE engine (Modified Anglia Engine). The 105E, in MAE form, was soon revving to over 9000 rpm from its base 5000 rpm in standard form! This amazing engine was soon developed into the Single Cam A Series (SCA) and later into the 5 main bearing and Four Valve A Series (FVA).
