Original Bilstein Vigot car jack made under the Deutsches Reichspatent (DRP) 520996 by Bilstein in Germany granted pre1949. Complete, fully functional, with only very slight surface rust. The 112-degree peg angle would confirm Porsche/Mercedes fitment.
Will sell to the highest offer.
"520996" is the specific patent number granted to the French company Vigot Frères for the jack.
"u.a." is an abbreviation for und ähnliche (and similar), indicating this jack is protected under the main patent and related ones.
These markings were required on jacks produced from March 1952 until the patents expired around mid-1955, confirming this jack is an authentic early production model from that window.
The markings AB1850 and AB1868 on the side components: "AB" is Bilstein's internal prefix for Autobahn or automotive component part numbers, used to catalog OEM tools for German automakers.
AB1850 refers to the main lifting arm or shaft assembly (the ratcheting or screw column, 18.5 inches long in these models).
AB1868 denotes a sub-component.
