I would like to introduce myself as an Au pair, qualified Staff nurse with experience with neurodivergent children, are young at heart and enjoy caring of kiddies of any age. I am available for flexible hours, baby sitting in the evenings or weekends, as I have no dependents. As I am a responsible, compassionate caring person, I supply a safe, fun and loving environment in which babies and/or toddlers or bigger children can flourish. My experience includes picking up children from school or after school activities and preparing lunch by providing healthy, tasty meals or as specified and assist with home work. I also encourage outdoor activities and doing crafts. I have my own vehicle, drivers licence and am a South African citizen, 9 years in the Western Cape.During the past few years I have had Au pair positions as the opportunities arose for children ranging from the ages of 2 months to 10 years old and enjoyed it immensely. It was a privilege to assist Mommy's that had to return to work, which is a huge step for her and their infants from as young as two months old. Together with the family we make the transition as smoothly and as easy as possible for everybody involved. With my babies Mommy, I go through sleep regression, physical, mental development by stimulating movement, assessing goals reached and just overall enjoying seeing baby blossom in a peaceful, safe environment, this included a lot of time outdoors. Regular daily reporting and videos to put Mommy's mind at ease and notification of signs of little one being unwell, such as high temperature, rashes, little one feeling discomfort and tell tale signs of e.g. ear ache, colic, regular outputs etc. Administering medication only on Doctor's prescription and Mommy's knowledge. Got little one ready for bed, bathing and feeding if and when so required in order for Mommy to relax and have a few hours to spend quality time with baby in the evening.I was also an Au pair caring for a 10 year old boy for the last year and six months doing home schooling until he could join the main stream schooling system after being absent for extended periods, due to past history as a foster child and with ADHD and ODD and I am proud to say my boy joined a school for special needs children and passed all his subjects with flying colors. He also adjusted to his new surroundings and I still assist with supervision at times and we love spending time together, enjoying outdoor activities, his most favourate being fishing spend many happy hours on the beach as it has a positive outcome concerning his neurodiversion. I also returned to do nursing as a carer for elderly Mrs. Jansen van Rensburg, Mrs. Joubert’s 82 for more than 10 years and became part of the family and also cared for numerous other elderly persons with disabilities.
