Trodak, a Durban-based company specializing in the design, supply, and installation of high-quality aluminium systems—including shopfronts, windows, doors, balustrades, frameless glass enclosures, showers, and related products—is seeking a motivated *Junior Draughtsman* to join our team.This entry-level role focuses on preparing accurate technical drawings for aluminium fabrications and installations, supporting our projects in creating modern, durable, and stylish solutions for residential and commercial clients across KwaZulu-Natal.Key Responsibilities- Produce detailed 2D and 3D shop drawings, fabrication drawings, and installation details using *AutoCAD* (primary) and/or *Revit* for aluminium shopfronts, balustrades, showers, frameless glass systems, sliding doors/windows, and ad hoc custom drawings.- Utilize industry-specific tools such as *Bizman, **StarFront* (Wispeco/Crealco-based costing and design software), and/or similar glazing/aluminium programs (e.g., Glazier or equivalents) to generate accurate profiles, cutting lists, material take-offs, and cost estimates where required.- Interpret architectural drawings, client specifications, and site measurements to create precise technical submissions.- Revise drawings based on feedback from project managers, fabricators, installers, or clients.- Ensure all drawings comply with company standards, building regulations, and aluminium system specifications (e.g., Wispeco/Crealco profiles).- Assist in preparing as-built drawings and documentation for completed projects.- Collaborate with the design and production teams to optimize designs for manufacturability and cost-efficiency.- Maintain organized drawing files and archives.Requirements- National Diploma, Certificate, or relevant qualification in Draughting, Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Technology, or a related field (or currently studying towards one).- Basic to intermediate proficiency in *AutoCAD* (essential); experience with *Revit* is a strong advantage.- Familiarity with aluminium fenestration software such as *Bizman, **StarFront*, or similar tools (e.g., Glazier, or other profile-based design/costing programs) is highly desirable—training can be provided for the right candidate.- Understanding of aluminium systems for shopfronts, balustrades, showers, sliding/folding doors, and glass enclosures.- Strong attention to detail, good spatial visualization skills, and basic mathematical aptitude for dimensions and scaling.- Ability to work under deadlines in a fast-paced environment.- Valid driver's license and reliable transport (advantageous, as occasional site visits may be required).- South African citizen or valid work permit holder.Please send your CV through to Trodakapplications@gmail.com
