A brake caliper socket 3/8" 11T is a specialty socket tool designed for working on brake calipers, specifically for removing or installing the caliper guide/slider pins or bolts.
3/8" → Refers to the socket drive size (it fits on a 3/8" ratchet or torque wrench).
11T → Refers to an 11-point/star (spline) tooth pattern inside the socket, which is made to fit the unique heads of some caliper bolts that are not standard hex or Torx.
⚙️ Use case:
Many European and some Japanese cars (like VW, Audi, BMW, Mercedes, etc.) use special caliper pin/bolt heads that are not simple hex or Allen. The 11-tooth socket engages these bolts securely, allowing you to:
Remove the brake caliper guide pins to replace brake pads.
Reinstall and torque them correctly during brake service.
✅ Without the correct socket, you risk stripping the bolt head, since normal hex or Torx tools don’t fit properly.
