Collectible Gold Miners head lamp and battery box plus spare battery box. Selling for a give away price. First to cash and collect secures the deal. As used in SA gold mines in 1980's. Suit someone who worked back in the day with these. Was working but never had charger to recharge. But sure can empty battery box and repack or put modern battery inside if wanted it to work. Old large Ship era lamp. Well made t from copper and some brass no idea what ship its from. Or if was made for home hotel etc. Too big for my ceilings so letting it go cheap. The glass is not original as was found in old Durban warehouse many years ago without glass. Can remove art glass and put plain glass of choice or antique glass or get lead glass made to suit your style or taste. Lamp size 850mm
tall and 640mm deep and wide open to offer but not cheacky low ball offers. I would have to be able to buy something decent to justify parting with this one of one in the world old item. Would be great for pub with Nautical or pirate type theme.

Unique custom wooden plane propeller floor lamp with shelfs plus nice old world plug and switches etc Needs a lamp shade and bulb of your choice. Cash and collect near Waterfall area KZN. Size 155cm tall, 51cm wide and 29cm deep and about 11kg's. Not sure which plane its from, but might be airforce training plane from late 1930sIts the laminated wooden one. Reduce for limited time.

BIOGRAPHY
Keith Calder was born in 1959 in the small town of Cradock, South Africa. From his youth, the life of this sculptor has been inextricably linked to wilderness and its creatures, a link that forms the essence of his sculptures. On completing school in Johannesburg, he undertook a diploma in nature conservation and spent the next ten years in that field, working throughout Southern Africa. Whilst working in the northern Kruger Park he contracted malaria. During his recuperation he started to explore his interest in sculpture. He spent a month sculpting and modeling in clay. That month marked a year of transition for him as he vacillated between his commitment to conservation and a possible career in the arts. He spent much of his free time honing his skills as a sculptor.
Calders work ranges from miniatures to life-size to monumental sculptures and is well represented in institutions and corporations throughout South Africa. His style is instantly recognizable by its realism and his ability to capture the character of his subjects stems from his intimate knowledge of them. To be able to draw upon the power and beauty of wild things and portray them in sculpture is a great privilege for me. Perhaps they symbolize our purer selves or jolt our deep-seated ancestral memory of when we once lived closer to the earth. The sculptures that emerged are difficult to define stylistically. There are elements of the abstract, cubism, and futurism. Some have an almost stylized art deco feel but are all immediately recognizable as a Keith Calder.
