Derwent Crystal was a British maker of
fine lead crystal, named after the River Derwent in Derbyshire, England. The
company specialized in fully hand-cut, full-lead crystal tableware and
decorative items, including vases, bowls, stemware, and lidded jars.
Most production was during the
mid-to-late 20th century (1950s–1980s), when hand-cut crystal was a symbol of
elegance in the home.

This elegant figurine was designed by B. Augst for Baccarat of France. It measures 12 x 4.5 x 8 cm, and is in mint collector's condition with no scratches or any marks.
It is signed with the Baccarat logo on the left side along the bottom of the base, and has the Baccarat name and makers mark acid etched on the underside of the body, near the tail.
