Bavarian Dornbusch Model 1854 Yataghan Sword Bayonet
Mid-19th century Bavarian military issue, featuring a classic yataghan-style recurved blade with crown inspection mark on the spine. Original brass ribbed grip with four incised lines on the handle (likely counting or unit marks), forward-pointing quillons, and integrated barrel ring. Crossguard stamped 6028, consistent with unit or serial numbering. Retains original form and character, showing expected patina from age and military use. Likely carried or used in Southern Africa during late 19th-century conflicts, including the Anglo-Boer War. A rare and historically significant example of Bavarian 19th-century bayonet design.

The clock was handmade as
a thank you gift for my late husband in the early 1990's, by a gentleman who
was a retired cabinet maker. When we retired to the Cape we had to leave the clock behind. The clock has not
been in use and also not serviced. There is a crack in the upper corner
of the glass door.
Unfortunately I am
not up on the intricacies, such as the wood, and workings/mechanism, however,
the face shows Tempus Fugit. I attach a few photos of the clock to perhaps
give you an idea. I have it on good authority that the clock is worth R30 000. However, a service would cost R4 500, which I will deduct from the price. I had in mind a price of R15 000 - less the service, so R10 000, but will consider any offers as I had to move to smaller premises.
