instrument . Used for aircraft navigation in World War II
A
normal sextant is unsuitable for
use
in an aircraft because the horizon is not level with the observer as in a
ship,
so the bubble sextant was developed for aeronautical use in the 1920s. It
was
very important in WWII. The automatic averaging atachment was meant to
ensure
that unbiassed measurements were made while the bubble and observer
wobbled
randomly, so that the error would reduce as the square root of the
number
of observations. Sixty measurements were averaged as the observer tried
to
keep the bubble and a star in coincidence for a two minute period.

This rare beautiful, very decorative vintage German high quality pewter plate ( 95 %) from around 1980, is sculptured with a typical old German beer pub scene, and measures 23 cm in diameter. Attractive wall decoration, but you can also put it on a stand). Original Zinn Becker Stuttgart with stamp at the back. It is in excellent original condition, no dents.

This very beautiful and rare antique pewter wine carafe is sculptured with detailed ornaments like angels and masks and wine leaves at the top and bottom. The handle is also sculptured with wine leaves. It has an angel head on top and a mask at the bottom. The jug is 36 cm high and quite heavy; 1.60 kg. It is in excellent original condition.
