Offering a handsome pair of mid-century Cape Dutch Revivalist armchairs, featuring classic ball-and-claw feet and elegant serpentine top rails. These chairs possess excellent provenance, having been in a single-family collection for over 70 years. The frames are structurally sound and crafted from solid indigenous Kiaat (African Teak), exhibiting the warm, reddish-brown grain and rich patination characteristic of this highly sought-after hardwood.Condition Note: Please be aware that the original leather riempies (thonging) were historically replaced with a functional, synthetic white woven cord. While the chairs are entirely usable and supportive in their current state, they are being sold and priced primarily as a restoration project. They present a fantastic opportunity for an interior designer, upcycler, or purist collector wishing to re-string them with authentic leather thonging to restore their original historical integrity.Price: R2,200 for the pair or NCO (Not sold separately).Collection ONLY from Newcastle/Dundee.Cash or immediate EFT clearing required upon collection.
