Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Cook/Chef to join our team in Hilton, Pietermaritzburg. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of sushi preparation and execution , and a commitment to maintaining high standards of food quality, hygiene, and presentation.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare a variety of sushi dishes including nigiri, sashimi, maki, and specialty rolls
* Ensure all food is prepared fresh, safely, and to a high standard
* Maintain proper handling and storage of seafood and ingredients
* Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering supplies
* Maintain a clean, organized, and hygienic workstation
* Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth service
* Stay up to date with sushi trends and continuously improve menu offerings
Requirements:
* Proven experience as a Sushi cook/chef or relevant role
* Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards
* Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
* Good communication and teamwork skills
