QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: Engineering Trade Certificate in Fitting and/or turning with 5-10 years’ experience within the Manufacturing and Engineering Industry. CNC Machine programming (Fanuc and Siemens). DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : Ensure health, safety and environmental procedures and legal requirements are adhered to. Report any deviations to H&S Officer and/or OperationsManager.Accountable for conducting daily SHE inspections, acting on all deviations raised and informing the Manufacturing Manager and SHE departmentStop any unsafe act or condition and remedy such action or condition immediately.Determine the tools and equipment needed to effectively complete a job.Participate in the creation of the daily machine schedule providing feedback to feasibility, flow, and operator capacity. Ensure all machines are running inaccordance with the daily published schedule, and with objectives to meet established targets.Problem solving / Component Quality: Coordinate directly with QC department to validate part quality from QC reports. For any non-conforming issues,validate part setup, tool builds, fixture requirements and machine geometry and coordinate data with the Project Engineer to achieve the required resolution and expected quality.Using the forecasted machine schedule, proactively verify the machines are configured correctly with appropriate tooling, available tool life, and fixtures as required to meet the forecasted production schedule.Develop, implement, and evaluate SOP s and WI s to maintain, troubleshoot, and improve processes related to: Machine maintenance, operator procedures, tooling procedures, pre-setting procedures, etc.Actively mentors and participates in the training of machinists.
