Suzuki first launched the Baleno hatchback locally in 2016 and the model has garnered much sales success in the process. Now, in 2022, the Japanese automaker has taken the covers off of the latest generation.
As one would expect of a new model, a bulk of the changes is in the aesthetic department. Everything from the front air intake to the three-dimensional grille and redesigned taillights are brand-new and follows a design language called Crafted Futurism, that loosely translates to low weight, higher power.
Customers can expect to take delivery of their vehicles around June. More details regarding trim levels and pricing will be made available closer to local launch.
On that topic, the Baleno is powered by a 1.5-litre engine (replacing the old 1.4-litre unit) with power figures of 77kW and 138Nm. Improvements have also been made to the suspension, steering and drivetrain, that contributes to a low kerb weight of just 955kg.

Both the GLX and GL models are comprehensively specced with usual safety features like Electronic Stability Programme, dual front airbags with ABS, electronic brake-force distribution (EBD) and emergency brake assistance (BAS).
