If you're a movie fan, you're in for a treat in the new year. There are a bunch of exciting Hollywood movies to look forward to, and most of them are action-packed.
Most of them are continuations of ongoing series, and avid moviegoers will be waiting to see what the next instalment holds and (due to the ending) if there will be another one to look forward to.
Gumtree lists some of the most anticipated movies that will be showing on the big screen in the first half of 2023, along with their scheduled release month:
Creed 3 (March)
The original film was released in 2015 as a spin-off of the famous Rocky franchise. The latest instalment will see Michael B Jordan's character, Adonis Creed, take on Damian Anderson (played by Jonathan Majors), a childhood friend and former boxing prodigy after serving a long sentence in prison. It is also the first Creed movie not to star Sylvester Stallone.
Fast and Furious 10 (May)
Petrolheads unite! A simple good cop, bad cop about cars and racing that started way back in 2001, has turned into a successful franchise set to release its tenth movie. Fast and Furious 10 will be split into two parts, where the majority of the original crew (Vin Diesel, Ludacris, Michelle Rodriguez) will once again save the world and go as fast as they can while doing it.
John Wick Chapter 4 (March)
The last movie was released in 2019, and since then, action fans have been waiting for another instalment into the franchise. John Wick and his path for revenge will set to continue in 2023. In the latest movie, the 'Baba Yaga' or Boogeyman will take on the High Table and its most powerful players in the underworld.
The Super Mario Bros (April)
The popular video game comes to the big screen. A plumber named Mario travels through an underground labyrinth with his brother, Luigi, trying to save a captured princess. Top Hollywood actors like Chris Pratt, Jack Black, Seth Rogen, and Anya Taylor-Joy provide voices to characters like Mario, Bowser, Donkey Kong, and Princess Peach.
Indiana Jones 5 (June)
Though there is no official title, Indiana Jones 5 will be the fifth and final installment of the series. This will be the final appearance of Harrison Ford in the franchise, where he once again returns as the main protagonist on another adventure. Other cast members include Mads Mikkelsen, Antonio Banderas, and Shia LaBeouf.

The cult slasher was first released in 1996, following the story of Sidney Prescot (played by Neve Campbell) and the infamous Ghostface killer. Although the plot is unknown at this point, the latest instalment will not feature Neve Campbell and focuses on the four survivors of the original Ghostface killings that attempt to leave Woodsboro behind for a fresh start.
