Those that attended the recently-concluded Festival of Motoring at the Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit not only got to see some awesome pieces of metal in the flesh, but also get an exclusive glimpse of Suzuki's flagship SUV - the Grand Vitara.
Ahead of its local launch in the first quarter of 2023, it introduces new technologies and class-leading features like a 9-inch high-definition touch-screen infotainment system, a 360-degree around-view camera, head-up display and wireless smartphone charging, Smart Hybrid Vehicle by Suzuki technology (SHVS) and AllGrip Select All-wheel-drive system.
The list doesn't stop there though as LED projector headlights, cruise control, six airbags, keyless entry with a push-button start system and intelligent climate control form part of the entire range.
For those wondering, the entire model range will be completely designed and developed by the Japanese brand and produced at the Toyota Kirloskar Motor factory in India under the global Suzuki/Toyota global alliance.

It will be available in two guises of Suzuki's popular K15B 1.5-litre engine, a standalone unit and an all-new dual-jet K15C with SHVS mild hybrid technology. Both variants can be paired to either a manual or automatic transmission, while the K15C-equipped variants will feature AllGrip AWD paired to an automatic transmission.
The SHVS system primarily assists the engine during normal and more demanding driving conditions. This translates to better fuel efficiency and reduces emissions. In addition, the system channels its energy to components such as headlights, air conditioning and infotainment to reduce the engine load. The AllGrip system (available in certain models), allows the driver to select from four driving modes namely: Auto, Sport, Snow and Lock with a simple push-and-turn dial.
