Description

We are looking for a Stock Controller to manage inventory and purchase merchandise based on the company’s needs.Responsibilities include tracking shipments, overseeing inventory audits and maintaining reports of purchases and pricing.


To be successful in this role, you should be familiar with supply chain procedures, have a background in plumbing, DYI or hardware and have good communication skills to interact with vendors, clients and internal teams. In addition, you will be required to assist with showroom sales.You will increase profitability and effectiveness by maintaining optimal stock levels of quality products at all times.


Responsibilities

Forecast supply and demand to prevent overstocking and running out-of-stock. Enter purchase details (vendors information, invoices and pricing) into internal databases. Load purchase details (vendors information, invoices and pricing) to internal databases. Place orders to replenish merchandise as needed. Track shipments and address any delays and oversee storage of products. Evaluate suppliers’ offers. Place orders to replenish merchandise as needed. Coordinate regular inventory audits. Liaise with internal teams to assess products’ quality. Keep updated inventory records. Ensure purchases do not exceed budget.


Requirements

Proven work experience of a minimum of 4 years' as a Stock Controller or a similar role, with a plumbing, hardware or DYI background. Good understanding of supply chain procedures. Strong computer skills, including Excel. Excellent organisation ability. Good communication and negotiation abilities. Minimum of matric whilst a post-matric qualification will be an advantage.This national company offers R10k total cost to company per month, which includes medical aid and a provident fund. This position is based in Port Elizabeth.
