Production Manager

A chemical manufacturing company in Blackheath is recruiting for a Production Manager. This person is involved with the planning, coordination, technical management, and control of manufacturing processes.

The person must be strong technically orientated, bilingual and have strong inter-personal and people skills. He/she must be able to motivate production staff, handle pressure and work to tight deadlines.

Responsibilities:

· The Production Manager reports to the Factory Manager/Operational Manager

· Plan, coordinate, and control production activities to ensure manufacturing processes run smoothly and reliably.

· scheduling production, quality, inventory levels of raw materials and finished goods, and process improvements.

· Scheduling production staff members to ensure proper coverage

· Setting productivity goals for the production team including motivate Production staff

· Enforcing policies and regulations to ensure compliance with health and safety standards (safety standards are in place and implemented)

· Allocating resources for the production department and ensure that Production is run in a cost-effective manner

· Take responsibility for human and material resources required

· Managing the production budget and implementing cost-saving measures

· Supervising production personnel, such as Production Assistants/supervisors

· Ensuring all products meet quality standards and products are produced in time

· Resolving problems or delays in production

· Ensure that good work practices, good maintenance and cleaning schedules are in place and implemented – all workstations to always neat and clean ie A place for everything, and everything in its place

· Identify training needs for Production staff and conduct training where required

· Assist with Internal Audits as required

· Review worker performance

· Involved in stock takes every month end.

and any other tasks necessary for the conduct of the employer's business, as the employer may from time to time direct.

Requirements:

· Matric

· Valid driver’s licence

· At least 5 years management and relevant experience

· To start ASAP

· Must Reside in the Western cape (Northern Suburbs)

· Solid Work track record with references.

· Staff management experience
