Edmund Barton | Still Life in copper
palette | 900mm x 600mm | Oil | R5000 (Framed)
Born in Ireland in 1933, Edmund taught himself to paint after studying only one year at the Durban Technicon. He mainly works with acrylics which are considered superior in retaining their colour and durability; he combines a variety of styles and techniques in recreating the feeling and vibrancy of his subject. Edmund specializes in wildlife paintings on canvas and large hand painted tile murals but is equally prolific in a wild range of subjects like historical buildings and industrial subjects. Commissions have been completed for many leading businesses and hotels - both nationally and internationally. Edmund has for a number of years completed paintings at the world famous Saint Geran Hotel in Mauritius which used his artwork exclusively for their decor. Some of his other prominent clients are: Standard Bank, Nedbank, Gencor, Sasol, Mobil, Sun International, Sun City, Wild Coast Sun and many more. Many of Edmund’s exhibitions were held in South Africa as well as one in West Germany in 1990. He is known for his murals of large sizes and designs which can be found in prominent hotels such as Sun City, the Protea Hotels, Holiday Inns, the Powertech Group, Southern Sun hotels, Mala Mala Game lodge and many more. Edmund loves the outdoors and Mother Nature and it shown best through his painting. He can surly be considered as one of the masters in his field.

Lynette Barnard | Abstract | 280mm x 130mm
| Etch | R1950 (Framed)
Lynette Barnard was born on the 21st day of May 1963 in Bloemfontein, the good old capital of the free state. “I matriculated in 1981 at Oranje Meisies Skool and then studied art with ceramic design as my main focus. I got married in 1985 and moved to a farm in the Rustenburg area where I worked as a full time studio potter. I lived there for 14 years and was blessed with two beautiful girls. Jarmila the eldest, born in1991 and Karsia, born in 1993. I was uprooted in 1998 and had to move to Bronkhorstspruit where me and my two girls are staying since then. The beautiful tranquility and rural feeling of this town has become part of me. Working all day with clay “the stuff we are all made of” captured my spirit and I always knew there was a higher calling on my life than just my ordinary walk on this earth. Surely we “are to become vessels of honour for the Master’s use”. Circumstances brought me to the point where I started my” Walk with God “in 1988. Although I’ve been playing with paint all my life, I started to paint more seriously in 1988. I was inspired by the freedom feeling of Father Claerhout’s work. I called mine “ Beginhoute ” and have been working since then in all media ’ s - acrylic, oil, gold leaf, pastels and oil pastels. To paint is to be in another world, a world where you need to lap into a forth dimension, which I call the store house of God. He’s already got all the paintings I need to make” in store” , even the ones in the far future - it just needs to be dropped into my spirit. It was on such a day that I was called out of the congregation, first by a prophet called Ed Traute and later years by one by the name of Mark Labuschagne. Both of them spoke directly to my spirit, saying that the Lord is taking me into a prophetic way of painting. ” There are days coming that God will show you visions, put these visions on canvas, these will be prophesies in the lives of people” But as we all know God’s timing and ours differ a bit. Very slowly this prophesies are falling in place. Over the past two years these words have been repeatedly confirmed by the prophetic word that was going out over my life. There is such a stirring in my spirit..... I ’m sensing that the days are drawing near where there’s going to be a constant flow of the prophetic through my work and words. God always takes us through seasons and there is a constant flow of different trials that He puts us through. As I look back over the years I can see that He is releasing more and more of His glory through my hands. This prophetic anointing is running through my work into the homes and lives of people. I know I’ve still got a long way to go - I know that I ’ m not where I want to be, but I ’m not where I used to be. I ’m okay and I’ m on my way!”

Isak Koch | Male Nude | 400mm x 300mm |
Oil | R2500 (Framed)
Isak was born to a framing family in June 1962. He attended school in Harrismith where he matriculated in 1980. Thereafter he studied Graphic Design at Vaal Triangle Technicon. After a two year interlude doing compulsory military service, Isak took up art again, first as a hobby, doing pyrography (burning pictures onto leather). Enjoying immediate success with a ready market, he turned his hobby into a full time occupation.
His work soon progressed to full colour renditions in oils and acrylics. Ever striving for realism and perfection, Isak established himself as a wildlife artist capable of producing super realistic works. His earlier works were eagerly purchased by clients, mostly from the USA, Spain, the UK and Germany. When Isak finally entered the South African market, he successfully diversified into other areas such as surrealistic landscapes, nude studies and many other themes.
He currently resides in Roodepoort, Johannesburg and dispite long hours of dedicated effort cannot meet the demand for his works.
