About the Print:

L’Arno dal Ponte Vecchio fino a Santa Trinità e alla Carraia, Firenze (1740):

This oil painting depicts the Arno River as seen from the Ponte Vecchio (Old Bridge) in Florence. The view extends toward the Santa Trinita Bridge and the Carraia Bridge.

The composition showcases the river, the bridges, and the surrounding buildings with meticulous attention to detail.

Bernardo Bellotto (c. 1721/2 or 30 January 1721 – 17 November 1780) was an Italian urban landscape painter, also known as a vedutista, and a printmaker in etching. His fame rests on his exquisite vedute (views) of European cities, including Dresden, Vienna, Turin, and Warsaw.
