Duties & Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate all instrumentation site activities.
- Manage installation teams to ensure productivity and compliance.
- Supervise instrument cable installation and containment systems.
- Junction box installations and terminations.
- Ensure correct segregation of IS or Non-IS systems.
- Drive quality compliance in accordance with project QCP requirements.
- Participate in daily coordination meetings and weekly planning.
- Enforce strict adherence to Sasol safety standards and permit-to-work procedures.
- Ensure all work aligns with approved drawings and issued-for-construction documentation.
- Work closely with Project Quality Control Officer to: prepare installations for inspections, close out punch items and ensure proper documentation and signoffs.
- Recognized instrumentation Technician Qualification (Trade Test / National Diploma / N6 with Trade).
- Minimum 5 years proven experience in a Sasol environment.
- Experience working within structured contractual environments (NEC experience advantageous).
- Valid medical fitness for petrochemical site.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret: P&IDs, loop drawings, cable schedules, and termination drawings.
- Strong knowledge of hazardous areas installations, PLC/DCS field wiring, instrumentation termination, and loop testing and commissioning support.
