Qualifications:
- Qualified Refrigeration Mechanic
- N4 Minimum
Experience:
- 4 years experience gained with in a HVAC (Ammonia Refrigeration) Manufacturing plant working with HVAC systems
- Fault finding and troubleshooting of air conditioning and refrigeration systems
- Experience in a FMCG production facility
- Relevant ammonia experience in production environment is essential
Duties
- Service, maintenance and installation of industrial and Refrigeration equipment
- Fault Finding and maintenance on fast moving refrigeration equipment

- Able to communicate in English and Afrikaans

POSITION: On – Site Technician

REPORTING TO: Branch Manager
JOB SUMMARY STATEMENT: Repair and maintenance of Engine driven Electrical and Pneumatic equipment.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS (DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES):
• Assess and test the defective machines, and fault find and submit to supervisors of repair needs.
• Disassemble machines and take off part for replacement or repair.
• Examine or conduct tasks or broken machine parts and identify defective parts.
• Install, replace, or change machine parts and attachments, according to manufacture and specifications.
• Reassemble machines after the completion of repair maintenance work.
• Replace, fix, or realign machine parts and accessories in line with manufacture and specifications.
• Understanding and commissioning of PLC’s, knowledge on deep sea controllers will be advantageous.
• Strong electrical and auto electrical understanding, diesel mechanical knowledge
• Start machines and observe mechanical operation to determine efficiency and to detect problems. • Collaborate with other workers to repair or move machines, machine parts or equipment.
• Maintain a neat and organised working environment.
• Requisition machine parts, equipment, and other suppliers so that machines can be maintained and repaired.
• Read work orders and specifications to determine machines and equipment requiring repair or maintenance and prioritise according to supervisor’s requirements.
• Record maintenance information
• Function test machines and adjust controls to regulate operations.
• Conduct any other reasonable request by management from time to time.
ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS & EXPERIENCE:
Minimum Qualification: Matric
Tertiary Qualification: Will be advantageous.
Experience: Minimum 5 years
Other:
• Qualified Millwright or Diesel mechanic
• Handling machines and machine parts
• Must exhibit outstanding ability to learn and comprehend the fundamentals of the functioning of machines
• Excellent understanding of electrical, mechanical and/or hydraulic and pneumatic systems related to screw compressors, generators and diesel lighting plants in troubleshooting, repair, deductive reasoning, and schematics
• Ability to achieve general maintenance essentials for all machines
• Ability to adapt to environment

Sort structural components and tools before loading and unloading.

Attach identifying tags to components or mark them with
identifying information.

Install protective devices, such as bracing, padding, or strapping
to prevent shifting or damage to items being transported.

Examine and inspect containers, materials, or products to ensure
that product quality and packing specifications are met.
·
Carry needed tools or supplies from storage or trucks and return
them after use.
·
Maintain equipment storage areas to ensure that inventory is
protected.
Installation Operations:
·
Read specifications or blueprints to determine the location,
quantity, sizes of materials required.
·
Clean or prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazards.
·
Rig or dismantle props or equipment, such as frames, scaffolding,
platforms, or backdrops, using hand tools.
· Assemble hoisting equipment or rigging, such as cables, pulleys,
or hooks to move heavy equipment or materials.
·
Hoist structural elements into place using scaffolding or hoisting
equipment.
·
Pull, push, or pry structural elements into positions for bolting
into place.
·
Bolt aligned structural elements in position for permanent
riveting, bolting, or sticking into place.
·
Mop, brush, or spread paints, cleaning solutions, or other
compounds over surfaces to clean them or to provide protection.
·
