JUNIOR QS

Well established Construction and Plumbing Company based in Durban North, seeks an experienced Quantity Surveyor in the Construction/Plumbing industry.

Candidate must have excellent admin skills, be proficient on Excel and Sage, be familiar with production planning principles and have their own transport to Durban North.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Pricing tenders/quotes- Responding to tenders/quotes

• Attending tender briefings and site meetings

• All administrative tasks pertaining to Materials/Quantities for required jobs

• Excellent telephonic and writing skills

• Knowledge of job planning/scheduling

· Site visits with progress reports

· Quantify completed work

· Exporting data from Building plans and compiling of priced BOQ

· Ability to work under pressure and flexibility to adjust to a dynamic work environment

· Attention to detail and accuracy

· Strong communication skills both verbal and written

· Time management to meet required deadlines

· Good Health, Energetic, self-driven and self-disciplined

Desired Experience & Qualification

• Have Estimating and strong administrative skills

• Must have 2-3 years’ experience in a similar field of work

• Matric (Grade 12) and equivalent qualification – completed

• Diploma in QS / BTech in QS or Degree in QS or equivalent

• Construction/Plumbing industry experience essential

• A valid Code 8 driver’s licence

• Ability to adhere to principles and values
