Draft of a Will

A Will is one of the best gifts you can leave for your loved ones in the event of your death. By making a Will, you ensure that your Estate is distributed according to your wishes and you will also spare your loved ones from unnecessary trouble and delay in the administration of your estate.

If you depart this life without a valid Will you have no say as to who will benefit from your estate. Without a Will, the deceased estate is distributed to the next of kin according to the Intestate Succession Act (Act 81 of 1987). This may result in one or more unintended persons benefiting from your estate, leaving those that you would have wished to inherit from you with less than you would have liked.

Life is not guaranteed at all but death is absolutely guaranteed upon all, yet we still prepare for life more than death. Despite that more than 86% of South African do not have a Will, maybe because it makes us think about our own mortality, and so we tend to put it off.
