Groot Trek Eeufees commemorative plaque - Circa 1938

This plaque is made from Syroco wood (a technique founded by Adolph Holstein in 1890. the moulding technique was developed where Syroco could create perfect replicas of the original carvings and the recipe of wood pulp, flour, waxes and resins combined with compression formed the mould). The plaque was a commemorative piece for the Groot Trek Eeufees (1838 to 1938). In very good condition for its age Size: +- 64cm x 31cm Collection Somerset West
