Traditional Hand-Carved Xhosa Smoking Pipe (Inqawe)
Carved from one piece of 'mnyamanzi' wood (Acacia caffra) aka 'hook thorn tree' which is commonly found in the Eastern Cape Province of South Africa.
This is a dying craft with only a few Carvers still practicing this traditional craft.
Xhosa men and women carry these pipes as part of their traditional attire when attending traditional functions etc.
Sizes range: 200mm - 220mm.
